Every estimate starts with your drawings. When you send your plans, we review them and give you a fixed-price quotation for the estimating work before anything starts, raising any questions upfront so there are no hidden costs.

A qualified Quantity Surveyor then measures the quantities from the drawings. For bills of quantities we measure in NRM2 format, the standard method used across the UK industry, so contractors can price every item like for like.

Each item is priced at current market rates for labour, materials and plant, adjusted for your region, because building costs differ significantly between, for example, London and the North of England. The more detailed your drawings, the more precise the result: budget estimates from outline drawings are typically within 15–20% of the final cost, and building regulation estimates within 5–10%.

Every estimate we produce is prepared and checked by a qualified QS before it is sent to you. You receive a PDF report and an editable Excel file, and we stay on hand afterwards to explain line items and help you compare contractor quotations.
